I love the new Microsoft “I’m a PC” commercials. No I’m serious… I really do like them. They’re clever and well done, unlike most of their past advertising. Hopefully (for them) they’ll continue to push the envelope and market their products well.
The opening of the new MS commercials are an obvious jab at Apple’s “Apple vs PC” campaign (which I’m over at this point). Why even include that? I think the commercial would be stronger without setting it up as a reaction to Apple’s commercials. Why does Microsoft and most diehard PC fans have a huge chip on their shoulder? Instead of standing strong and being definite in their marketing, it may read to some as “No really, I’m cool too… take THAT Apple, I’M COOL!!!!”
We get it, Microsoft is awesome. It’s also the majority and always has been. Why feel threatened by a competing company? PC users getting defensive or bashing Apple is like Christians or heterosexuals crying out descriminiation in America. Seriously…? You’ve always been the majority. Some people like you, some people don’t. Can’t we all get along? Who cares what you use as long as you actually get something done with it.
