I love it. Fortunately, I didn’t have any activation issues so I was up and running right away. I think it feels different from the first iPhone and its minor improvements make a big difference. I’m more impressed with the GPS than I thought I would be. I also think the screen seems crisper (which may be because I don’t have my anti-glare screen protector yet – the Apple stores don’t seem to have them in stock lately). I read that this screen is a bit more “yellow” compared to the original iPhone, but it’s hardly noticeable.
The applications are really fun. I haven’t purchased any yet, just played with the free ones. Pandora is really cool. I’ve never even heard of Pandora before, but I’m glad I have it on my phone. I’m sure many more excellent applications are soon to follow.
The sound is great: music, video, and phone calls. The biggest improvement is the 3G network. It is significantly faster and I love it. EDGE was OK at times, but generally it was painfully slow. I often didn’t even want to use my phone unless I was connected via WiFi.
In all, I’m happy with the new phone. I think it’s worth the price even for people upgrading from the original iPhone.
