I just finished The Sopranos last night. I started with season 3, since I’d seen the first two seasons years ago. It’s such a good show, even the “controversial” last episode. I didn’t mind how it ended, and although I was expecting it, it still caught me a little off guard.
I really love mobster movies. I saw all three Godfathers and Goodfellas last year. I need to go through Netflix and find more! I don’t know what it is about them, but they’re great. I might even pay attention to the Giada De Laurentiis shows we TiVo. Not that she’s related to organized crime, just that the Italian-American culture in these movies is so prominent… I want to make real Italian food!
The chairman of my graphic design program is the son of Melvin Purvis - an FBI agent who led manhunts against members of the mafia in Chicago. He’s written a book about it that I would probably find interesting.
